In article the basic features of development of competitive relations in sphere of the average gen¬eral education are investigated. Competition directions what, according to the author, are rivalry of educational institutions for budgetary financing, for the off-budget means received from rendering of additional paid educational services, for the public status and, as consequence, additional financ¬ing at the expense of means of welfare funds and sponsors are concretized; rivalry in the teacher's environment; rivalry of consumers of educational services for «a place at the best school» in the conditions of absence of deficiency of places in educational institutions.

The article presents guidelines for the integrated assessment of the competitiveness of a construction company. The author's classification of factors of competitiveness of a construction company and sets out the methodology for calculating them. The article deals with the nature and content of the entrepreneurial spirit of capitalism, and its influence on the formation and development of the capitalist system of XX – XXI centuries. The paper presents an attempt to combine the views of Max Weber on capitalism spirit with the basic concepts of economic doctrines of Karl Marx, as well as disclosed problems of formation of market capitalist spirit of the Russian economy and its competitiveness.

The evolution of theoretical points of view on the problem of competition definition starting of classical approach as the way of pricing regulation and reaching market equilibrium till the present approach as ordered institutional reference system is shown in the issue.
